DELAWARE CONCEALED CARRY/PERMIT TO PURCHASE COURSE- $125!

This full-day course is designed for those interested in obtaining a Delaware Concealed Deadly Weapon (CCDW) permit — and now also to satisfy the training requirement for Delaware’s Handgun Qualified Purchaser (permit-to-purchase). The course certificate you receive on successful completion will meet the State Bureau of Identification (SBI) training requirement that must be uploaded when applying for a purchaser permit. (You will still need to complete fingerprinting/photo and the online permit application with the State — see details below.) Delaware State Police+1

This course is valid for the Delaware resident permit as well as Florida, Virginia, Arizona, and some other states’ non-resident permits (not valid for Utah). The class is open to persons 18 years of age or older who are of good moral character and intend to apply for a concealed carry permit. Students should already have a basic understanding of firearm safety, function, and use. Inexperienced shooters are encouraged to complete a basic handgun course beforehand, although it is not mandated.

Classroom instruction (required topics per Delaware law and SBI guidelines):

  • Knowledge, safe handling, and secure storage of firearms and ammunition, including child safety.
  • Safe shooting fundamentals and live-fire safety protocols.
  • Ways to develop and maintain shooting skills.
  • Federal and Delaware state laws concerning lawful purchase, ownership, transport, possession, and use of firearms, including Delaware law on use of deadly force.
  • Techniques for avoiding criminal attack, conflict resolution, and managing a violent confrontation.
  • Suicide prevention and related safety considerations.

Range / live-fire (on-site):
We conduct live-fire exercises that put classroom fundamentals into practical use. Per Delaware’s Permit-to-Purchase requirements, approved courses include live-fire shooting with a minimum expenditure of 100 rounds; our range work is designed to meet that standard. You will practice safe and effective draw, handling, re-holstering, and scenario drills used by law enforcement and military trainers.

Additional expert instruction:

  • Tips for correctly filing your CCDW or purchaser permit application (what to upload, how to avoid common mistakes).
  • Basic handgun nomenclature and function for semi-automatics and revolvers.
  • Concealment methods & options, with hands-on demonstrations of holsters, cover garments, and equipment (loaner holsters available).
  • Dry-fire and manipulation drills to improve handling and efficiency.
  • Resources for staying current on reciprocity and carry law changes.
  • How to develop a tactical mindset: train for prevention and legal, safe response.

Certification & next steps

Upon successful completion, you will receive a signed Firearms Training Course Certification Form suitable for upload to the Delaware Permit-to-Purchase portal and for submission with your CCDW application. This course is taught to meet SBI/DSP training guidelines for the purchaser permit.

What this class does NOT include: fingerprinting/photo (IdentoGO appointment), the State’s background check, or the online permit application — those are separate steps handled by the State Bureau of Identification and Delaware State Police. You will be guided on how to complete those steps, but they are not processed during class.

Required equipment:
Appropriate handgun (no firearms permitted in the classroom) — rental guns available if you do not own one.
2 magazines or speed loader
Appropriate holster (loaners available)
100 rounds of target ammunition (minimum; required to satisfy live-fire portion)
Eye & ear protection (loaners available)
Range-appropriate clothing (no suits, skirts, sandals, or heels)
Boots or over-the-ankle shoes recommended; sturdy belt; cover garment (button shirt, vest, or light jacket)

Course fee does not include the State application fee for any permit, nor fingerprinting costs.

UTAH CONCEALED FIREARMS PERMIT COURSE - $75

This half-day course is designed for those interested in obtaining a Utah Concealed Firearms Permit. The Utah permit has more reciprocity than any other State, and allows the permit holder to legally carry in approximately 36 States! The class is open to persons 21 years of age or older, who are of good moral character and intend to apply for a Utah CFP

This course is recognized by the Utah Bureau of Criminal Identification(BCI) and meets all requirements to obtain the Utah CFP. Students will receive classroom instruction in many areas, all of which are mandated by Utah State law. Additionally, students will be fingerprinted and receive a passport-style photo, both of which need to be included in the application packet. Essentially, this class includes it all! You will leave ready to file your Utah application.

Please note: If you live in a State that has reciprocity with Utah, BCI requires that you obtain your home State permit prior to applying for Utah. For example, since Delaware and Utah have reciprocity, a Delaware resident must obtain a Delaware permit prior to applying for the Utah permit. If you don't have one yet, you can still take the class, which is valid for 1 year.
